shipping Shipping sauce international

Hey Guys, 
 
Wanted to pick your brains to see if you had any ideas.  I'm currently in discussion with a company in Europe, essentially, because of possible weight issues, best case would be to send large containers (1 gallon? 2 gallon?)
 
have any of you had experience with sending products internationally.  Are there really any other requirements that need to be looked at as far as fda goes?
 
In regards to packaging, are there plastic jugs that would be suitable, i am very aware that it may not be because of hot fill requirements and the extra time constraints of filling plastic in general.  Just trying to see whats out there.
