SKULLBIKERS 2023 G.O.LOG

I finally got tired of the birds, possum, raccoon, and squirrels going after the mangos. So, besides the 40 I have on the dining room table I also have all these to ripen and process.

Mango is usually polyembryonic. Some resemble the mother (clones), others can be very different... If I remember correctly, the shoots that appear first and all look more or less alike are clones of the mother. The others are bastards 😬

The last round of these that I saved and planted(about a dozen) about 3 years ago only had two that were poly., the others just grew a single shoot and one of those(even though not very big) produced fruit this year. I'll just keep rolling the dice!🎲 😉

So I went out this morning to throw some scraps in the compost tumbler and I see this:

I proceeded to pick it out and found that one of the mango seeds had sprouted!

I then threw my scraps in and gave it the normal one revolution. Then I figured what the heck and opened the cover again and what do you know, another sprouted mango seed.

Well, here's another thread I let slide way to long. Not much going on in my pepper world right now but I have plenty of "other" going on so I'll make a few posts covering that stuff.
I'll start with my Passion Fruit "wall", currently over the top of the 10 ft trellis.......and then up a tall banana tree and beyond.

I also have a couple of rouge pineapples again this year, we harvested 22 when the majority became ripe.
