So whats the next step up in heat

after a orange habanero? They're not really spicy to me anymore (I eat them every day). I like the flavor that the orange habaneros have so something hotter along those lines would be great. Thanks!

chocolate, and white habs. way hotter than the orange but not the great taste of the orange. scotch bonnet would be a great tasting hotter pepper.

+1 red savina hab, +1 white habs, and fatalii!

I think i'm gonna look for a scotch bonnet. I love it, I went from thinking tabasco was way too hot to eat to eating orange habs everyday in a matter of about 8 months.

Personally, I don't think Scotch Bonnets are hotter than orange habs. Maybe Caribbean Red, Red Savina, Datil, and definitely Fatalii are all in that range of next step up.

Yea I guess so. It's hard to find peppers hotter than orange habs around here. I've been hitting up all the bodegas around here looking for anything hotter than orange habs without any real luck. I might start growing peppers next year. Any tips for a newbie at pepper growing? Books or anything I can buy?

I wanna eventually make some hot sauces out of the peppers I grow, instead of buying extract sauces. Eating peppers is very healthy, where extract sauces are just heat and no good stuff.

Go to your local garden center get a starter kit Jiffy makes some easy ones to use, soil, mulch, fertilizer and your good tah go. Cost 40 bucks to start 50 or so plants with lots of potting mix left over for when its time 2 transplant.

You have a few weeks before planting/seed starting time. Read in the growing threads, and there are some good vendors posted about the the Vendor Vault forum who have great varieties of seeds.

I ate a Scotch Bonnet and an Orange Hab this morning and the Hab is deffinately hotter...not a good idea to do first thing in the morning on an empty stomach with an ulcer! OUCH

white hab, chocolate hab, fatalii, devils tongue, mind you, these are about twice as hot as an orange hab...

then your next step up is

the 7 pot and Bhut/Bih/Naga Morich series...these are 3-4 times hotter than an orange hab

then to the top with the Trinidad Scorpion...these are 4-5 times hotter than an orange hab
