Spicy challenges and must try foods near LAX?

Any peeps in LA know of easily accessible spicy food challenges in the LAX area? I have a layover there July 21st, and might be up for a challenge :-)  Will be staying at one of the Gateway hotels right next to the airport. Hopefully there are some challenges within walking distance or easily accessible by bus.
 
If a spicy challenge is not possible in the airport area, any recommendations for must try foods?

True story.
 
Yessir. INO even has their own proprietary peppers you can grab as many as you want. They're usually right next to the napkins and ketchup dispensers.
 
They're not very hot though but still fairly tasty.
 
LA's not my town so I don't know of any spicy stuff close by.
 
Too bad its only a layover as I'd also recommend this guy...

KING TACO in East LA is def worth it if you have the time.  LA's best kept secret.


There is also a hot sauce store at the Farmer's market. I think it's called "Light my fire".

both are about 30 minutes away depending on traffic.
 
I might be willing to do the taco challenges with you if you decide to go to Lakewood.
