Glad to see the gals are happy Rick!

This has been a strange year. I'm really glad I put some gals in pots this spring. They're the ones that are really doing well. I'm talking the Chinense. Strategies ;)

Looks very good, Rick.  We have just begun at least a 10-day
stretch of temps in high 70's and 80's with lows above 50˚.
Hope to see the same greening and growing acceleration you
are speaking of real soon!

Have fun on your trip and kudos to your wife's mom for longevity!

That's a nice pickup. It looks to have a little more room too. Congrats!

I like the garden. Plants seem to be coming along nicely. Thanks for the link of information. I haven't switched from grow to bloom yet. I think they are eating up that garden tone I mixed in the hole at planting time. I gave them supplements of black diamond, liquid kelp and cal-mag. I'll be making compost tea with molasses in the next week or so. That usually makes the plants vigor.

Have a safe and fun up and coming trip.

Hey Rick, I forgot to say how much I like your new ride.  Looks like a great unit.
Can't go wrong with a Toyota Tacoma.  The only thing better is the 4Runner
built on the Tacoma frame!

Thanks for the good vibe guys! Things here have been crazy lately... first it was the old truck dying, finding another one and lining up financing, playing catch-up at work to make up for the lost hours and finally two of my wife's elderly aunts are having medical issues... one of them very serious. So now it looks like I'm gonna be locked in a car with three women for the duration of our trip to Canada when we drive my Mom-in-law up to see her sister... maybe for the last time.  Sorry to those whose glogs I haven't been following, I had the best intentions but reality is what happens when we make other plans.

The chile garden is finally picking up now that summer is finally here!  One of the Forbing Nagas in a pot is the best looking for height, but all are green and blossoming except the Aji Oro, which is looking a bit yellow and stopped blossoming a few weeks ago. I gave it a good feeding and set up some drippers for the plants in pots and I hope that's enough. I also couldn't resist picking up a Rosemary Pepper like they grow in Turkey for pickling.

We leave the day after tomorrow and return next wednesday after the 4th of July. Cheers all!

I see the explosion is happening ;)

Do you have a caretaker for your garden while you're on Vacation?

Sorry to read about the health issues your wife's Aunts are having. LB and I worry all the time about our parents, the youngest is 82.

Enjoy your time with family and be safe!

I rigged up drip irrigation on a hose timer Scott. The plants will get 20 minutes of water every 12 hours amounting to half a liter of water each time. That's the setting that's done well for me in the past. [emoji4]
Cheers!

Those plants are looking in tip-top shape! You'll get buckets full of pods from them in no time at all!

Hope your trip is fantastic!
Cheers Nev. [emoji4] I understand it's been hot and humid back home while we' ve been away so I hope to return to lots o' baby pods. The weather here on the Baie des Chaleurs isn' t very warm despite the name. We should wrap things up here in a few days and head home on Wednesday.

Rick, I just went coast to coast to check in on my buddies starting with Paul in Oregon and ending on the East coast with you..I hope you and your family have a great 4th and thanks for all your solid advice you share with all of us,
Cheers Randy, you're doing right well on your own. [emoji106] we don' t have cell phone service here so the only contact we have with the outside world is via Email when we get back to the hotel and its wi-fi hotspot. It feels good to get away from the media circus back home for a while. [emoji6]

The garden is going good despite the late start d/t the cooler weather we had in late May/early June..seems like long ago now..but we're
up with the warmer temps here..rather nice actually..surely you should have lots of pods when you return home.

I love visiting Canada..we drove to Nova Scotia & every place we went people were so welcoming as soon as  they saw our License plate
wherever we stopped.
My husband would love a return trip to that part of Canada maybe PIE...we have lots of family all over Canada espec., Toronto..lots there..its good to see other places where you can drive without too much traffic & take in the sights.

Enjoy the rest of your time Rick with the family, cheers  & hope the weather is cooperating...eh! ;)

Safe trip home Rick , just a quick oer the pond report your Gochu is setting pods  will get some pics weekend , seasons warming up nicely over here , getting excited now big time , " soon be time for spicy ketchup " :hotsauce:

Happy gardening and hope the plants are podding up on your return ...

Cheers Sandy. It was a working vacation since my Wife and I were dancing attendance on her Mother and Sister and no time off to do things by ourselves, but hopefully we were working on some good karma. :) The rain and warm weather here while we were away seems to have suited the chiles... they've all doubled in size and begun setting pods. I even had a few ripe pods waiting.

Most excellent Sim, I hope they do you proud! Today I broke out a bag of dried Gochu pods from last year, seeded and coarsely ground them to make a batch of Mak Kimchi with some Napa Cabbage and a few veggies from the garden... Garlic Chives, Carrots, Korean Radish. :drooling:

It looks like the first plant to set pods after transplanting outside was the Scotch Brain.
