As an Organic grower I have very few tools to use against this PEST.


Two grows ago I used a product named Surround WP on my fruit & vegetables & had a bumper crop.
Last season was not as hot so I did not use Surround. Sometimes life has to kick you in the arse to get your attenion.


Last season Stink Bugs ruined everything they could, & it was a poor harvest due to SB damage.
Spinosad won't kill SBs However Surround keeps them a bay & prevents SB damage.

I also noticed the Aphids did not seem to like surround at all.

I've been using kaolin clay (which Surrrond is made from) for the hardening phase since you mentioned it a few years ago. This works wonders and is particularly beneficial for me who works a lot away from home and for whom this critical stage is difficult to manage. Wouldn’t its use in the middle of summer slow down the growth, production and ripening of the fruits?

Not at all it's even better. Asian pears & wine grapes all had large crops early.
All our squash & cucurbits did not wilt even on the hottest days & had so many squash even the Neighbors complained we should turn them under. LOL

Good luck with wrasslin' them down this year Marturo. I don't seem to get many here; almost none in my community garden plots and a handful on my deck plants at home, where I'm able to deal with them up close and personal. Never had anything approaching the infestation in your picture, above.
