Storefront up

SadisticPeppers

eXtreme Business
Not sure where else to put this (and many apologies if this is in the wrong group), but after much trial and error, and a fortuitous recommendation from PexPeppers, I finally have my storefront up and running how I wanted it.

The biggest stumbling block by far, was factoring in the cost of shipping. I'm not exaggerating when I say that alone has vexed me for a couple months now. Not only that, pretty much every other shopping cart solution I looked at didn't have what I wanted, I couldn't set it up anywhere close to how I wanted with plugins, just getting it set up was too cumbersome, or they wanted a bunch of money up-front, despite several recommendations from other people on here with storefronts of their own on their websites. After Pex recommended WooCommerce (which, thank the pepper deities is free), it all fell into place. There was a plugin for it that I found in very short order, which allowed me to set up shipping costs based on weight, with cutoff's for each type of flat-rate box. Reason being, while I could fit 3 5-ounce woozies of my hot sauce, but just 1 12-ounce BBQ sauce bottle into a SFRB, but anything more than that required a Medium Flat-Rate Box. Took me all of 10 minutes to iron out the cutoff's amounts, and voila!

I've gone ahead and set up a bunch of products on there, and it's rather basic so far. Feel free and check it out at http://www.sadisticpeppers.com/store, and please feel free to provide any feedback. It's still in its nascent stages, so bear with me. :)

Its great, its no nonsense. I really want to try that white bhut and the jonah. That white bhut makes me want to experiment with a fresh pina colada hot sauce. You know For fresh eating over a couple days, low acid no vinegar just a little lime.
Hmmm.... (wipes jowel).

Looks good Paul. Just placed a order to see how it goes. Good luck

Thanks all! I was going for the no-nonsense look of the site, and for your order, OCD< I'll ship it out today :)

Thanks! Right now, I only have the fancy-schmancy labels for my Extremely Hot Sauce, but I'm probably going to do up the labels for my BBQ sauces in the near future

Congrats, let me know how you like the woocommerce/WordPress combo. I know WordPress has become a tad more than a blog system now. \

Cheers!

So far, the combo is blindingly simple to use, easy to navigate, and the list goes on. Adding products, having it track inventory for you, and setting up the Paypal portion for payment was a breeze. They even have a free credit card processing plugin built into it, but I'm sticking with Paypal to do all my processing, since it already does credit cards and such

Congrats on the site launch dude!

If I was in the US, I'd send through an order.

I hear ya, it's rather tough to ship sauces and fresh peppers to Oz!

Thanks Judy! I really appreciate it coming from an awesome, established seller (with a pretty darn good website to boot)!!

Hey Cappy... You made a lot of progress since I looked at it last :)  I like it a lot.  Easy to navigate and has a "clean" look.  Very user-friendly.

BTW... I've finished off that 3 Days sauce, so I'll be placing another order soon.

Thanks for letting me know, hogleg, I'll take care of it as soon as I'm done running errands :)

Thanks Caveman! And you know where to find more of the sauce now :)

Looks great!

Thanks! I was ready to pull my hair out over the shipping thing, but when I hit on the idea of using weight cut-off's for the different size boxes, it all fell into place, and the stuff Pex recommended made it a breeze to set everything up.
