sulfur supply

I have read somewhere that putting match into pot will supply needed sulfur for little peppers plants
anybody have used this method of delivery,if so any comments, for how long ,what kind of matches....??

I know lots of people who use the match trick. I think the wooden matches have more sulphur but I not sure.

Am I being stupid or what, I've only ever seen wooden matches  Either safety ones or "not" safety ones, which I would have thought were the ones you would need.

Same here. "safety" and "strike anywhere", but both are wooden.

What those things that snap or fold in half when you try and light them? Yes I've seen them, they used to be given away free in restaurants etc.. The ones I've seen were made of very thin wood though not cardboard.

Its more difficult for us to find wooden matches, and they really do stink. I used to make stink bombs out of them when I was a kid.

For the plants yes, but not for lighting, it is actually possible to set fire to your fingernail as I found out as a teenager.

Never had nails long enough for them to catch on fire.

Basically don't play with fire, yeah. As for the match in pots I wouldn't have thought each match would last very long after it's been watered but then I don't know how much the plants need the sulphur (English spelling) ;)

Well they need a relatively large amount of sulphur, but you need to remember that matches use a concentrated dose of it.

so burying a whole box of wooden matches ought to work then huh....

Fertilizers should have it in them, especially natural ones. it's part of the plant's actual weight. important for growing, too.

Fertilizers have boxes of matches in them?
