Tarantula venom

Just read on wikipedia that tarantula venom has the same "pathway of pain" as capsaicin...At any rate, I would much prefer to eat a pepper than be bitten by a large, hairy spider to get the burn....Just thought it was interesting!

Not exactly. Unless the tarantula bites you on the lips, mouth, tongue or backayerthroat. Ha! Most tarantula bites would have way less effect on us than any hot pepper.

Maybe the guy who posted the "Pain Threshold" nonsense has had experiences with..oh..nevermind!!! I just found it interesting that their venom was equated, biologically, with capsaicum..

Let's not go there again! LMAO...Noticed the post disappeared. That is interesting. Did it say what level? Wonder how many SHU's is in a bite???

He was a strange cat...I'm surprised admin let it go as long as they did! They didn't mention anything about SHU's..It's in wikipedia's capsaicum (scroll down to "natural functions") if you wanna check it out...

Maybe you can extract some of your "running buddy's" venom, use it as a fertilizer and come up with a Trinidad Tarantula pepper? :D

I see them all the time...they stand up and try to look terrifying, but are harmless. I just move them off the trail and keep going.

tarantula peppers...hmmm. I read several articles. Pretty interesting stuff. Wish they would do a comparison heat level wise.
