and tell me if they are hot as they say they are supposed to be!

Mad Dog 357

Black Mamba Hot Sauce

Blairs Sudden Death

Dave's Ghost Pepper

Tell me if I should buy them!

Note: Just my opinions, based on my experiences with these sauces.

Mad Dog 357- The standard 357 (8/10) is a solid extract sauce that isn't the kind of thing you would use everyday. If you are looking for a "party" sauce to shock your friends than the 357 Silver Edition (9/10) is a solid bruiser.

The best of the Mad dog line for everyday use is the Pure Ghost (5/10), good Bhut flavor with great heat.

Black Mamba (8/10) Hot Sauce - Same as the standard mad dog sauces, too heavy on the extract to taste good.

Blairs Sudden Death (7/10) - Good flavor, salty, upper end heat.

Dave's Ghost Pepper (6/10) - Definitely a sauce to try. However it still takes most of its heat from chemical extract but it is countered by the great taste of the Bhut Jalokia(Ghost pepper).

The key thing is what you are looking for; most of us seasoned chilly heads seem to all agree that flavor should always come out above heat. Or at the very least the flavor not be compromised by the use of chemical extracts.

Just my two cents,

welcome to the forum.

Since those are all extract sauces, I don't really enjoy any of them straight, but have used them all as additives. I think my favorite of them all was Black Mamba. I used that in a bbq rib marinade. I liked Sudden Death in soups like gumbo. 357 I have mixed with queso dip for tortilla chips, and the Dave's I really didn't like the taste. I gave it to a friend. If you want a really good and tasty Jolokia sauce that is hot but has no extract try Melindas. Probably the best Jolokia sauce I have ever tried.
