could you help me ID this pepper?
well - I am aware of the fact that it says ají peperoncino (something like "small pepper-pepper"
) - but this is a somewhat generic name it seems (esp. down here in chile).
There is a fun story going with this pepper - they are normally called "aji puta madre" (literally translated: "mother of the whore") ... which is a strong foul-language expression when something unpleasant happens unexpectedly. I guess the US equivalent would be "WTF !!!!!"
this is of course uttered when you bite a piece of this pepper without prior warning. As you already guessed, this pepper is rather hot!
So is there a way to tell what pepper it is?
