Ask any questions here about getting started/first steps in the food business, namely, hot sauce. There are no dumb questions, that's why this thread was started. Don't be afraid to ask!

I'm thinking about creating a brand that showcases hot sauces from different sources, like a "Best of" series. The mission would be to find the best hot sauces that I can put my label on and guarantee satisfaction. Maybe find some underrated hot sauces and market the heck out of them while giving credit to original maker. I know this is probably a thing already but not sure where to start. Is it possible to get into the business without actually making or inventing a hotsauce?

Not sure I understand. Like a Michelin star for a restaurant and you will put your seal on it? Or you want to use your own hot sauce brand name but give them credit?

Either/or

a collaboration label would be cool. A seal wouldn't mean much without building a reputation first. I'm just brainstorming at the moment.

Maybe a hot sauce of the month club like Fuego Box but put a different take/spin on it. This way the sauces are curated (approved) by you but you don't have to change labels, but do have to promote. You could add a seal (sticker) to each sauce. The club is then your distribution model. They make some really cool boxes for such here:
