outdoors The running, biking, hiking, camping forum

Thanks and we are being very safe. Day 2 is over with 160.1 miles. In a super 8 motel in Dothan, Alabama. Wanted to get more miles in today and find a camp ground or a good place to stealth camp but would have been in the absolute middle of nowhere with no stores for 50 miles. So we are having to stock pile fluids for tomorrow. Won't be able to get anything for awhile.

Sic, are you keeping track of things like flat tires, replacement of bike components, etc? It would be interesting to get an idea of things to carry on a long distance bike ride from a personal experience. Even more so the water/food consumption on a trip of this kind? Thanks in advance, have a good ride and hope you make your destination. Last time I was able to ride was March 20th of this year, I am fresh off my third back surgery, as they left a bone spur which ripped open my spinal column cause a spinal leak. I don't seem to have any restriction on walking however ;)  Docs said 3 months, before I can ride again. Cheers and thanks in advance.

154.9 miles today and the climbing started, 6000 feet today. We are in Clanton Alabama at a Scottish Inn. The roads today were absolute crap and big decents. A dozen dog chases also. Good times, lol.
Looking good brother.

Sounds like a lot of fun. Memories in the making.

Stay safe and have fun on todays adventure.

Chuck

Absolutely gorgeous, and you two look like you didn't even break a sweat!

My track coach had the audacity to lend his help to a team doing the [bicycle] race across america - he'll be gone three weeks in June, a busy competition month for both track and swimming. Fortunately, though, my falling/jumping coach agreed to work with me away from the gym while my track coach is gone. Yay!

Thanks everyone.. It was fun! A little late to posting but that was Friday. We are hikers from April to November.. This was our first big hike of the year. In a month, we plan on hiking knifes edge on mount katahdin in Maine.

You sound like you are very active geeme!
