THP Site Painfully Slow

I’m not sure what is going on, but over the last couple of weeks THP has been incredibly slow to the point I find myself giving up and going somewhere else. I really enjoy it here, but I can’t even post half the time anymore. I just get that little thinking circle going around and around when changing forums or the green thinking lines over and over again when posting. It’s like it’s stuck between functions. If I try several times eventually it works. I have done a speed test while this was happening and I’m running 35 Mbps download and 30 Mbps upload. Not sure why this is happening all of a sudden. No problem on any other sites I try at the same time too.  Can anyone help resolve this?

Fine here. Has to be your network. It can happen with one site due to your network, that doesn't mean it is THP.

You can do a tracert, find out where it is getting stuck, and report it to your ISP. Good numbers here.

The site comes up very quickly for me.

Virus/malware check, log out/in, clear cache... process of elimination. Can be anything.

THP is fine for me but gmail is slow as all get out..

I don't think it is our network, have a feeling there are a few bad hops between us and host location. There are days where it can take over 2 minutes to load for me and I have done all kinds of analysis. At the exact same time my FiOS tests off the charts so not on my side but somewhere in between.

I agree it's not on your (or our) end.  I also think (in my own luddite paranoia) that DOS/DDOS and other such attacks are going on all the time all over the internet and that internet and/or network fighting is currently way more prevalent than any 'boots on the ground' war in our world.  So when you get the intermittent slow downs it's not a result of your network or even the few nodes in between but rather the shifting of traffic away from hot spot 'battles' to other routes and increased traffic causing the slow down.  Very similar to how side roads and alternate routes become clogged when there's an accident on a major highway near a metro area.

Yup

But your ISP can reroute you so calling them can help.

Sorry...I meant to add my $0.02 earlier to the other thread, but got stuck in meetings all day and just got a chance to chime in, and saw it was closed.  I just wanted to add my observation.  If you deem not relevant, feel free to delete this thread.

So I've also had a very slow connection to THP for the past two weeks.

I've run Traceroute multiple times over two weeks and I get the following results

Traceroute www.thehotpepper.com
Traceroute to thehotpepper.com (207.58.163.142), 64 hops max, 52 byte packets

No matter where I am (work, library, my house, friends house) the traceroute hits "sc-clm4234.servint.net (216.22.6.112)" and starts timing out.  I've also run traceroute when I'm connected to private VPN and through multiple online traceroute services and always hit the same timeout issue at "sc-clm4234.servint.net (216.22.6.112)"

sc-clm4234.servint.net is a server from "Smart Hosting Solutions"

The slowdown is definitely looks to be a dns routing issue in the servint network, well outside any of our ISP's network.

If you feel this info isnt useful, feel free to delete this thread.  Just trying to help

chiming in with: site was completely down for me this afternoon, maybe 15 ~ 20 mins chrome was saying 'this page is not available'.

One not related to the other. Site was down and back up.

UPDATE:

SL3's issue is fixed after a malware scan and removing corrupted cookies.
