True leaves! True leaves! True leaves!

Finally managed to keep some plants alive long enough for them to sprout some true leaves!! :) :) :)

They are tiny, but they are real!

Now I am going to just keep doing what I've been doing, and the next thing to look forward to is transplant! w00t!

I just so excited, and love doing this so much! I think that was the problem with previous attempts... I was literally "loving them to death."

I'm just so obsessive. When I'm home I literally can't go more than 15 minutes without having to check them out. That's why I love going to sleep or going out of the house to work. It gives me a good 8-10 hrs to not check on them, and then the first thing I want to do when I wake up/get home is to look at them and see how much they have changed!! :)

Well.. I'm really stoked because the first set of true leaves are getting bigger, and my most prolific plants are even starting to express their second set already.

Even my bhut jolokias, which are my most precious sproutlings since I only have two, are starting to express some true leaves.

Today, I had 6 habeneros, 1 poblano, and 2 cayenne that were planted on 3-17-12 stick their hooks out, and 6 cayenne, 4 kung pao, 1 numex #6, and 1 unidentified "red hot chili pepper" that were planted on 3-23-12 join the party as well!

I'd love to provide some plant pornage, but it would truly be gonzo pornage since the only camera I have to take pictures with is my 5-yo cell phone.

I think I'll start a glog. Won't be visually appealing.. but at least it will leave me a documented record of how things are going for my own personal reference.

Yea i recommend starting a grow log for sure! Its my first season growing peppers and if i look back at how i started it and my perspectives from just 3 months ago i can see a change. Wonder what it will look like after a few seasons :). Congrats on the true leaves. Now that they are gathering light things will really pick up fast!

Yeah.. I know there are still a ton of obstacles to deal with: pests, rot, weather, using fertilizer, pollunation issues, robbery...

but I'm really enthusiastic that now that I have seen them through the most delicate phase in their life-cycle, that as long as I am sensitive to their needs as opposed to imposing my needs upon them... I will be able to see at least some of these plants through to fruition.

Thanks to everyone for all the help on THP.

:) :) :)
