Hey SoCal, do you do anything different with the Embers plant than you do with any of the other chile families. I heard somewhere that growing elementals vs chinense/annum plants, to use different soil or something, can't really remember right now. Anyways, I ask cause my Embers plant doesn't look like its getting any taller or bushier and thought that would have something to do with it. it could just be lack of light too though. It got sun scold on it when the weather was really hot up here and (in a nube error) I started hardening all my plants but left it outside to long. Anyways they lost a bunch of leaves, but now its raining again with damn near no sun peaking through the clouds.
Thanks

Hello Habaneroheat81,
I try to keep the soil element the same with all my plants I decided to top this variety out curiosity I think it was a great decision the plant bush out and continued to pop out peppers more than what I wanted, so the neighbor benefited as they enjoyed the heat from the pods. The plant you see there is in a 7 gallon grow bag what I noticed is that the roots dug themselves all the way down the bag, so I think size of the container is also important while some say 2 gallon is fine for ornamentals I prefer to keep everything in a 5 gallon minimum even ornatmentals. I dealt with sun scald with this variety also when I first put it out, but recovered without any issues if you have great drainage for your container you should be fine just let it dry out under ambient light if you don't expect any sun soon or continues to rain. Good Luck
