I didnt know what else to have for the subject but anyway here is the deal. I was given seeds from the other forum that I am a member of and they were labeled as Habaneros and now that they are starting to fruit I am HIGHLY doubting that they are Habaneros. The reason is that the fruits are growing upward. I will get some pics on here even though its probably to early to tell what it is but what kind of plants would are about 1.5-2 ft. tall and grow (Tepin shaped) pods upward? I dont know if there is to many to mention, but any ideas based on that description what it COULD be before I get pics up here?

Well... Wild Brazil/Cumari is a C. chinense, and it seems like it could meet your description. Small upright pods, about the size and shape of tepins. I think this plant can get a bit larger than your description though.

Well here are som epics of the "not habanero" (thats what Im calling it.) plant that I have growing. Like I said its most likely to early to tell but thought I would see if I could get som opinions anyway.

Here are my Tepins. So you can see how I got the idea that they are the same shape, but just growing upward.

Wow seems like my source may have really screwed me over on seeds... So then what could both of these be? Or will I have to wait until the are further along?

Pods on No.2 are too small to be 100% sure, but looks like some sort of Cayenne (In my opinion as a noob :))

First pics could be some sort of furtescens, maybe?

Ditto, I'm growing cayenne just now and that's what they looked like when they were small, I am even noobier than Aji though and there could be other chillies that start out like that before becoming more distinctive.

just put the seeds in a seed trader pack and be done with them. I have read that's what most people do with their unknown's ;)

#1 kinda looks like a Piquin but still early to tell and 2 is def not a Tepin -- post pic in a couple of weeks

So it would seem as though that even my tepins aren't tepins. These whole thing gets more and more disappointing as I g

Well last I looked there are a good number. If I had to guess I would say about 10-ish or so. But the way I ended up planting them they were paired up together. So I would say 20-ish if you count the plant as a pair. I will be returning from my vacation tomorrow (Saturday) so I will see what my plants look like and get some updates for this post.

Well I didnt take any pics yet but I am back from my trip and holy crap am I happy. I have a lot of red ripe Cayennes and the "not Tepins" and the "not Habs" are showing nice progress. My "not tepins" are doing decent. One of them is about 1-1.5 inches long right now. Perhaps I will upload some pics tomorrow for you all to see.

Well here are some pics of my "not habaneros" and my "not tepins". So to start it all off here are the "not tepins"...

Now that this is a more mature stage, any thoughts as to what the above plant may be?

Here are the "not habaneros"...

And a little bit of a better distant shot...

Any guesses on what this might be?

I already might have some pc-1 nagas. I sure hope I dont have more even though the other ones haven't fruited yet.

So now that these are a little bit more mature, does anyone have any better ideas as to what they might be? Thanks again for the help.
