container Using DE in containers

Hey everyone.

I have been having an earwig problem with my container peppers. I searched for diatomaceous earth implementation, but I could not find anything specific for container use.

Is it acceptable to use DE in containers, seeing as all drainage goes through the roots? What is the most effective way to use it? I was thinking of spreading a ring around the stem of each pepper to make sure that anything that approaches has to walk through the stuff.

I have already used earwig traps (molasses, soy sauce and oil), but when it rains, it splashes around and kills every leaf it touches.

Any input and thoughts on good DE use?
