Variance from same seed stock

Take a look at these jalapeno peppers that came from the same seed stock(2 different plants now growing). Look at the difference when ripening. Any ideas and I prefer the ones with all the brown/tan growth lines they look really cool.

Corked vs non corked, is the heat the same? I have had crazier difference from same seed stock :)

Corked looks like Early Jalapeno and other looks just like a black or purple jalapeno when they go to red. Was the middle one ever purple or black or straight green to red?

They both turned from green, to black to red.

Some people consider Corked Jalapeno's as having more flavor,BUT a sometimes very tough skin.
Corked is a good term, skin looks like cork bark and has the same texture.

Roasting them like New Mex chili's solves the problem with tough skin. You easily remove it after roasting.
Also helps with pod sugars/develops  taste...
