What blossom end rot looks like

Here is something that just makes you sick to see.

One of my chocolate habs with blossom end rot.

Yeah, it sucks. I had an aeirloom tomato this year that virtually all of them had it. :(
I bought a two different packs of heirloom tomatoes (Ristentraube and Valiant) both turned up with it. I pulled all of the tomatoes off and dusted the plants and my pepper plants with lime then added some epsom salt to the soil. The Ristentraube's turned out ok but the Valiants are a total waste. My Red Cheese Peppers were fine too, but I've picked maybe 2 dozen chocolate habs with it.

Last year my tomatoes were trashed by blight... LOL
Next year I'm going back to planting Brandywine tomatoes, they've always done well for me.
Next spring, I'm testing my soil before doing anything.

And yes, blossom end rot has something to do with a calcium deficiency or something. Ortho makes a spray to take care of it, but I don't like chemicals all that much, besides I was too mad to even care... :censored:
