There are a ton of peppers rumored to be hotter than the Bhut Jolokia, but as far as I know only two have been confirmed to test hotter. The Naga Viper (A hybrid developed in the UK) is around 1.3M SHU and the Trinidad Scorpion 'Butch T' strain has been tested at 1.46M SHU making it the hottest tested in the world. Other peppers that seem to be hotter in the general consensus are the Trinidad Douglah and the 7 Pot 'Brain Strain'.
Good luck on your project/speech. One of the first projects that I had freedom of topic on I picked hot peppers and the scoville scale. I was about 12 years old and the Red Savina Habanero was still considered to be the hottest in the world. My how things have evolved for me over the past decade
Edit: Here are the folks that had the hotter pods tested:
Naga Viper: Developed by Gerald Fowler of The Chilli Pepper Company in the UK:

Trinidad Scorpion 'Butch T': Seeds traced all the way back to the island of Trinidad, and Mr. Butch Taylor spread the seeds from a small plant market in Maryland to the chilihead world, and eventually to Australia where they were grown and tested to be the hottest chili in the world by The Chilli Factory. Their seeds are being spread globally by Neil at The Hippy Seed Company.
