I have a 24" T8 fixture with a ballast that reads is 120v 60hz and will take 1 F25 T8 bulb. I have another fixture that's 36" and can take one 40 watt T8 bulb. Would that be enough light to grow a couple of plants to fruit? If not is it possible to upgrade the ballast on a T8 to a bigger size that could support the same length bulb, but have more wattage and lumens that would be enough to grow a couple of plants to fruit? I can change the ballast / bulb as needed, but unfortunately I have to use the existing fixtures as they are built into the furniture and as a result I can't replace those.
