Hi i am new this forum.

I was wondering if anybody could help identify the cause of this scaley black stuff that is found mainly on the flowers of 1 of my scotch bonnet plants. I think its the causing of a lot of flower drop to.

My thinking was aphids but i did see one red spider mite in a dead flower.

Is this also on the stems and leaves? If so, its leafspot/fungus.

if you saw one spider mite, guaranteed it wasn't the only one.
My flowers looked like that when I was infested with aphids, does the black/brown stuff scrape off or is it damaged plant tissue? Damaged tissue = aphids, scratches off=fungus

Thanks for the ideas people, they are regually moved between outside and an outside open grow house and my climate is a humid one though not always that warm.

Pepper-guru its on 90% flowers 10% leaves - mainly the under stem.

Fire face this does not scatch off :)
