Whats the difference

I have a pack if seeds from Judy that says "BROWN MARUGA"

I also have a pack of seeds from another source that says "BROWN MARUGA SCORPION"

Is there a difference?

well one is a strain from judy, and one is who knows what from wherever, so yes they are different.
 
Just because it's a brown moruga doesn't mean they selected the same exact phenos. Could be different variety to begin with, could be the brown mutation is slightly different in them.. Could be the 2nd person is just reselling judy's seeds so they are the exact same, who knows.

So are all morugas bred from scorpions?
Sorry but up until a couple months ago I didn't know morugas even existed.

Yes i know they are obviously different being from different sources.. but more like ^ said, is brown maruga the same as brown maruga scorpion in general.

Spicegeist posted a thread on this recently -- i only recall that the tem "7-pod" was used in the title -- this in Hot Pepper Talk.

I've heard of both red and yellow "7 pot moruga" which look like regular 7 pots of their respective color. No idea on flavor or heat though unfortunately. The moruga scorpions however look much different and are much hotter.

We should refer at these varieties as Moruga Scorpion, since the Moruga is a non-superhot pepper from Trinidad

But since it's a rare variety and the Moruga Scorpions are more common among us, it's become a standard to drop the "Scorpion".
