What's this on my bell pepper?

I noticed this soft spot on one of my orange bells. What could this be?

Thats more than a soft spot!! lol but not sure what it is from.... maybe, a bug put a hole in the surface and now its just rotting away???
 
I ended up with some bells liek that also, they ripened fine but the white spot eventually turned black. I didnt eat the pepper, just threw them into the compost. On an interesting not, it ONLY occured on my 2 bells plants that were container planted, the 4 plants that are in the ground showed no sign of this.
