When Can I Isolate Pods?

I picked up some Nylon Tulle fabric and am looking to isolate some pods so I have pure seeds. At what point can I cover the pods? I would like to do part of an entire branch if I can. Do I need to wait until the flowers begin to open or can I wrap them up before that?

Thanks folks.

Hell, you could isolate a whole branch now! As long as the flowers haven't opened, they haven't exchanged pollen from other plants. you could also isolate a few flowers at a node by just making a little pouch out of the fabric and tying it onto the group of flowers.

In short, once the flower opens, it's too late to safely say you've isolated them from other plants' pollen.
