Which flower? or both?

When conducting a cross, which plant do you concentrate on as the recipient of the genetic material? or do you pollinate both parent plants? I would imagine it makes a difference for a whole host of reasons. I think I would be inclined to go with both just to see how the offspring differed in the next generation.

I don't think it matters for the same species. It's good practice to do it both ways unless you're working with two species you know will only cross one way.
