White Chili questions and thoughts

How many white chili can you think of?

White Ghost
White Habanero
White Fatalii
White 7 Pot
Blondie
Caterpillar
Kanthari
 
Now consider things like Kanthari, which some consider to be a white chili.  After white, it turns orange.  What makes it a white chili any more than something being called a green chili just because the thing is not ripe?

Thoughts?  More on the list?
 
I grew a White Thai pepper last year, it stays white for a majority of its process until finally turning red to ripen.  I ate them when they were white though, I liked the flavor of this stage.   Once they turned red they took on some of the same characteristics as other Thai peppers.
