health white spots on the tops of leaves

Hello everyone.

A few days back I began to notice some white spots here and there on my plants. The spots do rub off and dont appear to be uniform in size or shape. I looked at them hard with a magnifying glass and still can't make them out.

Can anyone shed some light on what it may be?

No it's not dandruff! LOL

Sorry about the pics but they are the best my camera will do.

It looks a little like some kind of powdery mildew - does it spread,
or do the spots stay small? Is there leaf damage visible underneath
after rubbing them off? Perhaps it's something airborne?

No, they don't appear to spread.
No damage on underside.

Airborne? Not sure. Possible but this is a new occurrence with no environmental changes.
