seed-plant-vendors Who is “Jay” and what happened to them?

n00b question perhaps, but who is Jay and what happened to them?

I see so many crosses with “Jay’s (something)”.

My searching suggests this is Jay Weaver, but I can’t confirm this and I cannot find evidence of genuine activity here or online.

I asked copilot about Jay...

Jay Weaver – Pepper Grower from Pennsylvania
- A quiet farmer from Bowers, PA, raised in an Old Order Mennonite family
- Accidentally created the Jay’s Peach Ghost Scorpion pepper around 2010—a cross between a Ghost Pepper and a Trinidad Scorpion
- Known for other fiery creations like:
- Jay’s Red Ghost Scorpion
- Lightning Habanero (in red, yellow, peach, mustard, and brown)
- His farm, Meadow View Farm, became a hotspot for chili enthusiasts
- Still uses traditional farming methods like horse-drawn plows and hand-harvesting
- Plays a key role in the Bowers Chile Pepper Festival, where he gives tours in a horse-drawn wagon

Jay’s peppers are now grown worldwide, and he’s celebrated for his humble innovation and spicy legacy.
