Why do people prune their chilli plants prior to overwintering? Is it simply to make them easier to handle and due to the fact that space is an issue? Or is there more to it?
I have overwintered a few plants, some several times, I never bothered (or knew) to prune and it seemed to work. Those plants are getting rather large now and I am thinking of pruning to free up some space and because the frost has damaged them a bit. This got me wondering, is there more to pruning than conserving space? Does it help them survive better, or help them come back stronger, or something?
