Wife in hospital

Linda has Type 2 diabetes, but it seems to be insidious, causing way more damage than normal. She lost her ability to drive a few months, instead of years, after the docs noticed she may have diabetic retinopathy. Tonight, she is in the hospital with an early stage of congestive heart failure. It's not life-threatening, at least at this point, but something she will have to deal with for a long time - and she is only 52.

Prayers appreciated!

Good luck with everything. I feel your pain...my wife is a Type 1 and has had a heart attack already. And SHE is only 34. (She had her heart attack at 23.) Makes you appreciate every single day with her, doesnt it?
 
Sending our prayers as well from another type 2 diabetic. Hope Linda improves soon, they really need to find a cure for this stuff, the side effects are no fun!

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. Some updates - the doctors decided her problem is is not CHF but rather mild Pulmonary Hypertension (ventricular, not arterial). Sort of a mixed bag - PH leads to CHF and if the underlying cause is not arrested, the 10-year prognosis is worse than CHF. The doctor thinks it may be due to sleep apnea, which normally is treatable. That would be a good scenario as the her lung functions could return to normal.

She also has anemia and will undergo a colonoscopy in the next couple of weeks, as well as a sleep study. By the time this is done, she will be a familiar face in the hospital.
