From the annuum v Glabriusculum group.

Pequin 'Uvalde', recently forked. 5.5" square
pot.

Pequin 'Uvalde', leaves smaller and darker
than the previous specimen. Cotys were
dark purple. Forked much earlier, also.

Topped Red Tepin, 8" clay bulb pan.
Finally starting to extend a bit.

Topped CGN 22795 c. praetermissum, white flower,
in an 8" clay bulb pan. This plant developed some
really wonky foliage prior to the radical pruning. Now
filling out nicely. High hopes for this one.

Flexuosum plants. Hoping that having two plants will lead
to some berries setting this season.

Maybe my hopes will be realized!

CAP 524 c. chacoense really looks good.
Flanked by Tepin 'pshngo' and c. flexuosum.

Decided to make use of these extras and use some tiny 1L airpots I remembered I had.
Plan to keep them small and indoors in a sunny porch. Good for extra seeds and easier to keep going in the off-season.

Coco + perlite + vermiculite mix. I will use the same approach I've used successfully on my bonchi which is to partially dunk the pot into a bucket of nutrients and then let it drain.
These pots have been a struggle for me. Thankfully I think I have it now. (Last survivor) I think next time I'll skip the layer the of pine bark on the bottom. Still not sure how I feel about these, but I'm going to press on with them, for now.
Uvalde AnnG looking a little rough again, and in need of another trim. She started flowering again a bit ago and was rewarded with an outbreak of aphids, and me forgetting to go up there and do a midday check.. It seems like these pots go from drying to crisp almost without notice. I want to love them.

Also, you can see the little Uvalde cutting that could, even with berries. I'll bet you could stick cuttings of these in the ground and they'd just take off. Here's the bottom of her, since you already see the top.. Some nice new shoots starting to pop from the fork and below, almost time for a cutback.

@PaulG That purple Uvalde is really a looker! The big-leaf looks like a hybrid to me. I don't think I've ever had leaves that big on mine, super curious about what the fruits will look like.

@CraftyFox - Both of your seed train Uvaldes are
looking nice and healthy. Almost time for the green-
house!

Were the seeds you put on the seed train wild-col-
lected or from your own plant?

If any one has a white/red flowered flexuosum growing, can you post up a few pictures of your plant and flowers please. Just curious to it's growing habits and how it looks. Here's a few more picture porn for yall to look at.

Nice flower pics, James. Hope your season
continues on a successful track 👍

They were OP seed of the plant I grew from the original seed I was given. I still have original seed from the ones I was sent as well.
Thanks, buddy. Will be interesting to see if
they both have the elongated pods the 2020
plant had.

C. galapagoense in the greenhouse.
Several pix due to varying light. Seems
to change depending on perspective.

Several berries visible in last pic.

Several years back I had a C. Galapagoense in ground and managed to get a few pods but never ripened ones. Best of luck on this variety Paul

I have a few Uvalde from that stock that seem true to form. The largest (only one I've potted up yet) is producing nice elongated pods with some real substance to them. I'll be curious to see what the apparent hybrid produces.

Uvalde Pequin - with a little photo-bomb gnat-in-flight near the bottom left.
That is very interesting. I wonder if they will remain deciduous-berried..
Are the leaves on that one bigger than the others that seem true?
