Will Green Pods Ripen After Picked?

Hi,
there is a frost advisory almost nightly where I live and my plants haven't produced much of anything yet and their loaded with pods. I need some advice on what to do with these pods.
I have read a few methods on ripening them...
#1 Cutting the branches and hanging them upside down indoors.
#2 Putting them in a warm windowsill.
#3 Putting them in a paper bag with a few tomatoes.
 
Does any of these methods work? Or do you know of any other ways of getting pods to ripen?

Change the water once in a while and you'll ripen all but some of the smallest.

Where did you read about these methods?
 
I accidentally broke a branch off of one of my fresno plants that was loaded with green pods.  I tossed that branch about 10 feet away and left it there.  A week and a half later all of the peppers were bright red!  So, yeah they will continue ripening.
 
I've had some success leaving individual pods on a dry windowsill that gets good sunlight.  If they're still on a branch, I'll put the end in a vase filled with water and put it in a sunny window. 
 
I've watched so many pods rot from trying to ripen like that.

The ones I've had best success with have started to ripen even just the tiniest tiniest bit.

I've put them in bags with bananas, left them on the sill, put a whole bunch in bag by them selves yada yada yada.

If it were to happen to me now, I'd just freeze em for a green sauce but that's just me.
 
Some do and some dont....Plus many end up rotting. If its starting to turn then results are pretty good on a window sill. This year im gunna try some green supers dried for powder and see how that goes.
 
I have seen broken off branches produce a fairly good success rate. At least better than a pod alone. A branch in some water with a weak nutrient solution should keep the branch alive a few more days or longer.
 
Have you tried eating one of each type while it's green? You may find that you prefer some of them that way.
