Hey Gary

Wasn't bashing the oil industry really. They provided my me and my family with a very good living for over 30 years! Just giving an example of how things are steady changing for the better.

My nephew was an example of how some people can't even explain their contempt for the industry. They just buy into the frenzy that anti-oil has become.

Yes, it's sometimes funny how gardening in general attracts folks from all points of the political spectrum. They have the liberal types who think it blasphemous to use a plastic bucket to make a compost tea or to grow a tomato that doesn't have the word "Heirloom" before the name. And, you have the folks, raised old-school who would use strychnine or xyklon-B to kill aphids! And eat the produce 20 minutes later!

I was never a liberal politically but, I love to hunt, camp, hike and fish. Never did like abusing the environment though. Sometimes you find yourself on the same side with people who you are otherwise diametrically opposed to on just about every other issue.

Cool, thanks Ray...Nowadays more than ever we need places like THP that bring people together rather than divide them even further...I think it's cool that THP attracts so many people from so many different cultures and ideologies. I try not to engage in hot-button topics in social media forums like THP or FB, but sometimes it just happens, and that's probably a good thing. There's no use in pretending I'm someone that I'm not....

Beyond being conservative or liberal, blue-state or red-state, tangerine-state or grape-bubble-gum-state, whatever vs. whatevery, I'm really trying to just be pro-human race here, and not do the knee-jerk reaction whenever touchy subjects get raised.

Chile heads are the coolest people of all, never mind whatever else is in their heads. That's where my head is at.

What's up Gary. I rode my board yesterday. Took it easy but still had a ton of fun. Paying for it a bit today. Had to tell ya.
Hope all is well! How them plants doing? Shoot me a pict or two.

Cool Jason! Vert? Street? You've inspired me...as soon as my back stops hurting.

I'll get some pix up soon...I actually got 20 or so plants in the ground this weekend. I'm feeling real good about that, but man does my back hurt!

someone say cichlids??? btw gary.. the eagle has landed... will report and post a video =D

I hope you like them, KD. Keep in mind that they're not super hots....just some smokey like nuggets of chile sabor....

Had 3 breedings before the male decided to kill the female.

He then lived alone for 2 years, would kill any cichlid you put in there.

Yeah Gary! Plants in the ground!
I got some outside, but not in the ground yet.
I hooked up with some friends, rode the concrete park downtown, and then ended up at a really cool backyard ramp over in east Atlanta. It was relatively small, 3 ft w/a 5 ft extensions w/pool coping. Short flatbottom on the 3ft section made it fun, with the 5ft set back on one wall. Its easier to point out which muscles don't hurt right now, but totally worth it.
Hope your back feels better soon!

Gary, sure love the beauty of that country plot! Those mounded rows with mulch look so nice. Looks like a place you would want to spend some time at. It must be awesome puting your plants in the ground with each trip there.

Just plain beautiful! Have a good one, easy on the vertical skating! I have a tame place I take my daughter that I call the pink ditch. I'll try to take some pics next time there.
Mike

Mike, thanks so much! Those beds are my mission in life for the time being....

True vert is definitely off my radar right now...I'm just not that flexible anymore, and nowhere near as resilient as I was in the 80s. I can't wait to see pix from the pink ditch...Sounds like my kind of spot.

Thanks Ramon! I'm real anxious to finish planting out that annuum bed so I can start getting all those Caribbean yellows in the ground. Except for a couple of Naga and Congo plants, everything to the left of the newly dressed row will be planted in some type of yellow chinense...

Gary! That country garden looks MAGNIFICENT! Lucky guy you are! Is that a primo bed?! Can't wait to see it all shaped up and full of pepper trees! MoA's lookin out the window ready to jump in the ground!
