windchicken 2018

This year my glog will (necessarily) be all-YouTube-all-the-time, and that's all I'm saying about that...This post, featuring my Capsicum chinense plants, should follow a video of my Capsicum annuum plants, which have already been outdoors for several weeks, but that video will have to come later, because I have yet to make it:

Holy cow, Gary! Your leaves are enormous! Plants are looking great! And Bubblegum Wartryx??? Are you kidding me? I can't wait to see the results of that cross. Is that a cross you made? Great stuff!!!

Thanks Adam! Bubblegum Wartryx came about in Matthew Arthur's garden up in Hot Springs, Arkansas. I tasted it last summer at our Arkansas/Louisiana/Texas Chile Head Meet and Greet...The heat level is right up there with the hottest of the hot, hotter than the Wartryx for sure, and really cool-looking pink pods when they first start to color up.

Matthew gives all the credit for this hybrid to his bees. Check out this video I made when he invited us to tour his garden:

Nice to see you gloggin' again, Gary....OK, maybe V-gloggin', but nonetheless. Have a great season!

My Dreadie chokecherry jelly was a huge hit! I'm growing more this season, hoping for a bumper of both the peppers and the fruit!

Yes, the jelly is epically wonderful, Eric! Thanks so very much for that...I need to post about it...And thanks for growing Papa Dreadie this year!!!

Love that you can give your plants enough space in between each other to properly breathe. Looks great Gary, can't wait to see the zapotecs

Thanks Ryan! Right now they are desperate to be thinned, but I'll do that when I pot up for the last time, very soon!

35 plants of Zapotec this year! Biggest grow ever!

Can you spill the beans and tell us what you're using for soil, nutrients and lighting? I love those racks too. Can't get much healthier looking plants than that

Thanks so much for saying that Ed! Honestly, the soil is just plain old Miracle Gro Potting Mix, with zero amendments...The lights and the stands I bought online from Harris Seeds. I believe the bulbs are Sylvania Plant and Aquarium T12...
