wine Wine yeast for fermenting peppers?

Hey guys, I have some merlot mash fermenting in the primary right now, it's going pretty good. 
 

 
Can I use this starter for fermenting veggies and peppers? I hear to use the lacto-bateria but why not wine yeast?

Because you are not making pepper wine? WIne yeast needs some oxygen and lactobacillus does not. Wine yeast will never get the pH low enough to preserve the veggies/peppers/hot sauce.
