Without seeing the pods, I doubt anyone can give you an accurate I.D. other than the species. Only time will tell!

    Most distinctive flavors

I'm pretty new to the hot pepper world but I recently ate a fresh scotch bonnet pepper for the first time and it was delicious. It made me burp quite a bit and the burps left a nice pineapple like flavor in my moutg

    Another LED thread.

Very cool! Thanks for sharing, Kev! After reading some forum posts and watching some videos I decided to purchase a Pro Grow 260x LED. It is currently in transit! I will be doing an LED glog here, hopefully with some nice results!

    indoor Moving Indoors

As far as I know, lux is 1 lumen per square metre. I generally just do a lumens per square foot calculations for simplicity. Total number of lumens / total square feet of grow space = lumens per square foot. That sounds like it will work. I had 14 bulbs in my grow space last year that was 6...

    indoor Moving Indoors

Yeah, everything I have read says 3000/square foot, and that's what I use as my minimum. My last setup had 3733.3333333333 lumens per square foot and my peppers did well. I usually put my CFL's as close as possible without causing damage. 1 foot might be too high for CFL's as their light output...

    indoor Moving Indoors

The lumen mark that you should aim for is 3000 per square foot with cfls. That is what I use and it seems to work, but as you said, the more the merrier. As far as bulb temperature ratings, I do primarily "daylight" bulbs with a few softer bulbs and the peppers seem to like it.

    Another LED thread.

Now, I don't want this to turn into a flame war, nor do I want a bunch of "X bulb is better than led" responses. I'm looking for people who have grown peppers, full cycle, using an led system. I am interested in purchasing one for my indoor grow this winter and would like some testimonials...

Warning to all gardeners: Do not kill hornworms!

Hmm. I wonder how well peppers will adapt to the environment in hell.

    peppers/canada?

I'm in the same boat as you. A few small unripe pods and a lot of flowers.

Sounds like you did the right thing if they were being crowded by the tomatoes.

No, you don't need to buy the CFL's labeled "Grow Lights". Regular old CFL's will do.

breeding Timing of pollination when hybridizing

Generally I was emasculating in the morning or before bed only because that was all the time I had with work. As far as the pollen goes, I waited until I could clearly see the pollen on the anthers and see that it would fall off if I touched the anthers. You can kind of see a little cloud of...
