Hi, I'm a hobbyist gardener. I have 37 pepper plants across my yard the bulk of them in raised beds and a couple in containers. I attached an image of my latest plant, a thai chili growing in a peanut butter jar kratky, its only 4.5 weeks from seeds I harvested from grocery store chili peppers. For whatever reason no garden centers in my area sold seeds or seedlings of the thai chilies. I feel I am more satisfied having harvested them from the chilies myself, I learned you should definitely wear gloves and I got to dehydrate the chilies to make flakes. I feel this is more cost efficient way, the seeds would have cost just as much with no included chili flakes.
