THP 8th Anniversary Bash...

Burger Royale

Round 2 is Veggie Burgers

A veggie burger is a patty of ground vegetables (loose definition: any form of vegetation). No animal proteins (meat/fish) or bi-products (oils/fats) on the burger. Keep it 100% vegetarian. Eggs and dairy are allowed and more than welcome.

No ready-made fake meat.

To qualify as a burger it must be on a bun. Alternatives are welcome, as long as bread is on both sides. This means two pieces, no wrapping, etc.

Your burger must be presented on a plate with no other ingredients. This is a burger TD and one will not win because of killer sweet potato fries.

With the two picture maximum, one patty alone (to see all the ingredients and how it held up) and one assembled and cut in half (to see all the layers) is highly recommended.

Cooking methods, burger toppings, this is all up to you. Anything goes. Be creative.

BEGIN!

Burger Royale Schedule
Weekend 1: Beef Burgers - Voting for Best Beef Burger (Winner: wrightdaddy)
Weekend 2: Veggie Burgers - Voting for Best Veggie Burger
Weekend 3: No Beef, No Veggie Burgers (other animal protein) - Voting for Best Alternative Burger
Weekend 4: Best Burger - No cooking. A poll with the 3 winners to determine the Best Burger

A picture of one patty alone to see if it held up as a final plate pic? Boring. I say lump it in with the process pictures if you want to show it off. If we have a max of two pics, I want to see a finalized burger build and a finalized burger build cut in half. We might even be able to tell if the patty held up with those two pics alone.

Says recommended. Do what you like.

Top bun off, shot from above... works great.

These patties are not easy to make they fall apart. Let's see who can do it without hiding the patty.

The patty is the challenge here!

i still have no idea what im going to do? i am going to try but if nothing takes patty form im fo sure throwing it on the ground!

maybe a deep fried peanut butter and jelly that would be vegie!

I was foolishly vegetarian for about 3.5 years. My veggie burger is gonna be boss - and I WILL be eating it.

I've mapped out something I think will be very very unique & good - I'm just not positive it will form a patty yet. Heh

i dont understand how vegatirans can use eggs? maybe my vegie burger can be a chicken after i watch it lay a egg,ha.lol.

why i bring this up is a egg is nothing but animal protien,,,,so ?

but im not agaisnt it,just think its odd,,,that is all!

google up" natures harvest cook book" would this count as vegie?

All you have to go by is what is defined as vegetarian per this contest. That's the only way these work.

OK, so there are stages of vegetarianism. For about 2.5 years I was "Lactal-oval vegetarian" - this meant I ate animal byproducts like milk, eggs, cheese or products with animal byproducts in them. for 1 year I was full on vegan. that's no animal products of any sort. then I moved to Holland and was served a traditional Dutch meal by my bosses' mother, who'd spent all day preparing it for a total stranger from thousands of miles away. It was Hashe, which is sirloin tips stewed in a reduced port win sauce with mushrooms and garlic over nmashed potatoes, accompanied by Fla and Yogurt (both dairy). And after 3.5 years of eating no meat, I smiled, and ate what I was served. and it was friggin awesome. Haven't looked back. Point is though that something can indeed be vegetarian and have eggs, cheese, etc. It's a milder form of it. which of course is why I'm cooking my burger in 100% pure lard. (kidding boss, I'm kidding!!!)

Whatever you say, egg tits.

Don't worry its veggie bacon ...

Okay cool.

I had adjusted the rule for you but I moved it back. That's cool you won't use it.

Just to be sure it can not be in it.. on it... around it.

This is about making veggie burgers not buying pre-made stuff that is supposed to taste like meat... that is your job.
