Scovie, you brought it. Badger, you came in second to me, it was a hard sell between the two. LB got the bronze and keybird is runner up.

Scovie- SFRB me some of that cheese dip!!!! I'm jealous of your taste buds.
 
Went with FD's creation...I rarely eat fried things...but I want those. SL was a close second. But keybird...au gratin...I live on those things (from the box)...gotta make 'em your way...you rocked that shit.
 
badger126 great job with the cheesecake, but desserts tend to do poorly in voting here in THP land :(

Voted with my mental taste buds, not my eyes. Scovie first, FD second and geeme third. Simple is good when it comes to cheese:D
 
No worries, first TD here, can't expect to do great the first go round. Here's to hoping though! Wouldn't mind a throwdown crown!

Plus eating my TD was all the reward I need :)
 
Everyone knows I am like the ONLY sucker on THP for desserts. Especially cheesecake! Nice job Badger it was beautiful :)

SL was my second choice seeing as I love pasta too.
 
I went with the Biz he brought the cheese 2nd to Geeme that's a quick one to make.
They all look good thumbs up on everyone who tried.
 
I forgot to follow the TD topic and forgot to TD - but that was an awesome Bucs game ...

Now I have to ponder who brought it ...

I told myself I'd go w/ novel for TD's, and the cheesecake is certainly that ...

And actually, I'm half tempted to go w/ SD this time ... that looked like good times.

I might have to give it to BIZ just because I've been in a similar position of having gone buckwild before and it doesn't really translate well to the structure of a TD - that was a helluva ingredients and plating effort ...

Well not everyone cuz I'm all down with the sweet heat.....I'd say more than half of the things I make with peppers are sweet. 3/4 of my sauces so far this year are sweet, I've made some hab/raspberry jelly, dunno just like it that way. That said, I'm all about cheesy things....just wanted to be original.
 
I had to go with Frydad4 again . Them poppers look gooood. But Scovies Dark and Stormy is a photo finish with Frydad4 in my opinion. Great job all of you!

My vote went for Salsalady, just because of the homemade cheese.
I have been trying SO HARD to perfect homemade mozzarella, to no avail.
I have Rennet tablets, citric acid, the whole deal, but I just can't get it to work right.
The closest I've come was a ricotta-ish mush that didn't taste real good.
So I have lots of respect for your cheese. Nice job!
 
hey badger - did it taste good?

I thought it was delicious, but I'm biased! If I had to do it again I think I would use raspberries in stead though, the blackberries washed out the flavor of the huckleberries and didn't really stand out against the cheesecake as much as I wanted.
 
i stuck to my promise to vote for novelty and voted for the dessert here - on the promise that it tasted good ;)

i found SL's and BIZ's somewhat self-reflecting ... i wanted to vote for SL just because she made cheese, but doing things from scratch doesn't seem to earn kudos in these parts (it should, i think, but doesn't) ... it earns points w/ me personally though, and if I hadn't decided to forever vote on novelty and had just voted for a PNW alfredo last month, i'd have voted for SL's ...

i would most like to eat FD and SD's tapas style if it was going to be a meal ... that would rock. both, together.

I think I would have voted for SD's if D wasn't going to (I'm sure she will, it's the only dish of them all she'd eat - save the cheesecake - which she admitted she's taste) ...

So, I voted for the cheesecake, and between D and I, there will be votes for the dessert and the beer cheese/brat's - which follows closely w/ food w/ eat here ...

As for me, I'm making my way through the cheese I purchased but didn't bother to assimilate in any competitive way - there's a funny story for another time about how I ended up accidentally buying $40 worth of gruyere ...

PS - I was drawn to the scope/scale of BIZ's work, which I personally admire ... but as I learned myself, the TD favors the a la carte item, perhaps because of the photographic restrictions ...

Frydad,
Make sure you use distilled water for the citric acid as well as the rennet.
If you're using "Junket brand" Rennet use 1 whole tab or two. Junket brand is weaker than other brands of rennet out there...
I was running into the same problem and after making that change it worked out.
