BBQ Triple Play!

The players were:
Beef
Pork
Non-meat

All smoked, but you could mix-n-match those three however you saw fit and do mains or sides.

Vote for your favorite!
keybrdkid's all-veg, frydad4's experimental, or LunchBox's traditional.

Funny how it worked out like that. 3 entries in the Triple Play and all very different.

Goin' with the Kid early...FD always puts on a hell of a show, no doubt!  But thinking of what it takes to make vegetarian meals, and how it was applied to a seemingly unlikely method...I'll go with the Kid.

This one required a best of three coin tosses for me. lol

LB and FD you both had things that I liked in your entries.

LB I liked your descriptive methodology. See the final meat product and meticulous steps involved was excellent. and seeing how you explained what to avoid doing .

FD I liked your interesting ice technique. I also liked your way of preparing the pork and beef as well-and the presentation.

so in a best out of three coin toss,

frydad gets my vote this month!

oh, and thankee for the votes! :D

KYBRD! Dont be in such a hurry to vote! No rules against or shame against voting for yourself. I'll review in the meals the morning. Might actually get through all of them in under one cup of coffee!

And chops to JayT for a great cook-up. DQ'd but still a great meal.

oh yeah! momentarily forgot about that.

great stuff. I think I was considering a JayT three-peat, before he got dqed.

Rules be DAMMED! The more rules there are, the more that are needed.

JT had this in the bag. but alas. "No Foul or Fish". The bag broke.

Way to go Kid. You went waaaay out of the box. You are always very creative that way.

FD. Very fancy, but it just didn't get my juices juicy like LB and Jay's.
Not to say, next time I'm visiting, I DEMAND those Beef ribs!

Daaaeeeuuumm LB!

Smokeytime Meat.

On a plate.

FTW!!!!

Thanks brother...it's hard for me to even want to think outside the smokebox for BBQ, when ribs are kind of a thang for me...I mean...how many TD's have I entered ribs? Besides the ones I entered carnitas)  But, I don't often enough get the chance to give the smoker a true workout, so when I do, I pack on the favorites.  I was going to smoke a turkey as well for this TD...but then I saw no birdies...

missed the cutoff

not like I was gonna enter anyways

It's OK wheebz!, par-tay it up and then move on!   It's all good~

do you need me to have that florist send you a little HOT bouquet just so'z you know the NW Pack iz there for you bro~????

Man, I don't think I've seen a TD with so few entries before. That said those that entered were high quality entries. Key, that Bello burger and Sweet Tater is killer and great job converting the grill to smoke. LB Brisket and poppers done right, always welcome on my plate. Had to go with my SoFlo Brother though, Fiddy that sammie with the Cocoa Bread and the frozen salad, now that's some great SoFlo, Ht day after a Tropical Storm passed through kind of Chow.

Well done Everyone!

wheebz, I was talking about Chile Juju's birthday bouquet~~~  silly~

Back to the TD!  The 'Kid's ghetto smoker set up got me.  I've done almost exactly the same thing on our gas grill, it works pretty good!

Well Done!

I went against my own rule (the one I would must like to mouth-fist) this time, just because I could not even fathom making what he made for this.  Totally took me off guard, and while the final pics look a little muddled, I get it.  I like it.  Way to go Key.

The brisket looked weird to me, no bark, and possibly sliced with the grain (hard to tell). I think that last 4 hours, smoking covered in a marinade pan with apple juice, was more of a braise than a smoke, and that softened the bark. That's also the reason it has that faded color, from steaming in that covered pan.

Key busted out the crazy smoked veg. Cool.

FD, a little experimenting with flavor and technique. Cool.

i wont even bother telling you why i voted the way i did!!     if i did i would get hollared at by 20 peope teling me im a noob and a dick.       so maybe i shoudnt even make this post but i did
