That Bolivian Rainbow is amazing! Looks quite woody already.

How will you deal with the space problem? I went from thirteen varieties to four this season since my wife couldn't stand seeing all the pots everywhere :rolleyes:

Oh well, the space problem... I have a couple of solutions at hand:
- My dad has a farm where some of the plants will go
- I'm setting up a large raised bed in our backyard for chilies, tomatoes and cucumbers, so that my neighbours will get a taste of some great vegetables as well
- I'm preparing a room on our loft with LEDs and plenty of ventilation in a months time

So.. Hopefully the plants won't grow too quickly so I'll be able to keep up :silenced:

Yes, would be interested to know as well. For so few lights your plants seem to be doing very well. I'm guessing you will need to expand soon with the amount of seeds you have.

Glad you asked about the lamps, I'll try to shed some light on it (...)

I researched a lot, and the Americans seem to like the powerful led panels the best (100w+). Here in Denmark the 'big scale' chili growers use lamps of maximum 36w. With CREE leds they cost a little less than $100 a piece.

I thought that was a bit expensive, so I started looking in China. I got the 36w lamps below for $20 - including shipping. They have epistar leds in the right wavelengths.
They have 60 degree lenses, that I have swapped for 120 degrees.

I'm honestly impressed with the performance, although I'm sure that the lamps with CREE leds are more powerful, they would have to be on for a year or so to make up for the price tag

36W E27 8Red 4Blue - got two of these with 9:3 ratio (and Six more on the way to sell)

36W E27 High Power LED - one of these

10W E27 3Red 2Blue - one of these for herbs, year round fresh herbs are great

Edit: totally forgot, I also have a small 24w tube (you can see it on the pictures) that I use for the small seedlings, to avoid giving them too much light - and to be able to fit in all the plants, of course

Thanks a lot! I'm trying some different things soil wise, most are potted in even parts of Coco, regular potting soil, vermiculite and perlite, topping with vermiculite. It seems to be holding up very well. Kind of want to try 100% vermiculite, but it seems a bit like an overkill. Any thoughts?

I haven't got my hands on Coco yet, but would like too. Unfortunately i live in Jutland, and Coco isn't something every store stocks over here
I' m just using cheap store bought soil (pottemuld to us Danes) mixed with some perlite in a "this ought to do it" eyeball mix
Thoughts....well with that amount of plants, you would be looking at a considerable cost using 100% Vermiculite would be cool though!
I really dont think it would be worth it, probably better to just plant some more peppers....but i could be wrong!

I bought separate lenses and put them on. I have a new batch of lamps and they're being made with 120 degree lenses. Generally the Chinese factories seem very willing to build to your specifications

This will be an interesting grow. I see you're mainly growing indoors. Which plants are going outside ? Besides the LED's will the plants receive any supplemental window light ?
I've grown pepper plants indoors before yr round, it can be done successfully with some select pruning. Best of luck with the plants...
