December will always be a special year-end TD, and this one was the best we've ever seen!
 
First of all, congrats to all of you. The real winners got to eat these amazing creations! A lot of you threw down multiple times. I hope you had guests over for the Pizza Party, if not, well, that is some serious dedication right there. I hope everyone had fun participating! 
 
29 Pies
Would have been 30 but the "naked chef" missed the deadline.

There's a lot of blood, sweat, and beers in these pies, I ask that everyone take the time to evaluate each entry from the description to the pics. That will take some time. There are 5 polls and multiple pies, and with that taken into consideration, the normal poll period of 2 days has been doubled to 4.

After the 4 days, the 5 winners will be polled for Best Overall Pizza in a normal 2-day poll!

That's 6 crowns!

That's another week of awesomeness here on THP and bragging rights for next year!

This closes in 96 hours!
Going forward, polls last 48 hours per usual, TDs with an additional category, add 24 hours, and if more than one additional, add another 24 hours. Hence, 96 hours here.
 
Would be nice to split the polls so we could vote each category as we have time for.  Took me a bit to get through classic/rustic!  I'll write down my answer for that and check out the other entries. Impressive efforts all!

Disqualifying the two volcanoes in the Unique category was fun. I smashed my spacebar kinda hard and pretended it was a gavel after I made my ruling.
 
I just want to apoligize for anyone I dont vote for.

I really liked FB's Lover's, Geeme's Dessert, Essegi's Classics, and PIC's Deep Dish too.
 
Also thought SL put down a nice Classic, but PIC's photos on the Classic were OOTW.
 
I could reduce each down to a pair easily, but definitely went out of my way to spread my votes around ...
 
I don't tolerate wheat well in terms of digestion, so Stickman's are hard for me to process.

So: homemade of homegrown tomato puree, that vas very thick, mozzarella, mashed garlic, 3 cloves. After cooking douglah rough powder and evo on top.

I did not arrive in time to post my final photos. Guest host I be, I could not abandon meeting to sit on the PC.
 
Here it is customary dinner at 9pm, never before, but we started at 10pm. Our schedule is different, longer days that the northern hemisphere, here is the dark night at 9pm or later in summer.

I had a couple of surprises plus 7 pizzas, but anyway ... Im sorry

Without even thinking PIC 1 margherita.
Why? It's a pizza verace done right. That takes skill and experience, you don't make that the first time you try.
If this goes to the final, and it's likely to happen, i'll vote that over every other one since this is the pizza type i prefer and because it's more difficult to make it well the classic way than the original one.
Others were good... But good is not enough on classic pizza! :D
 
I loved frutti di mare Stickman toppings btw!
 
Lovers:
FB. I love his homemade mozz. He choose to pair it with buffalo mozz that could be the best cheese ever for pizza. Solid choice of italian salami... Not sure about a whole packet of yeast, but i'm sure he had his reasons! :D
Jay, Pic and mine are a close second. :P
 
Deep:
i don't hide that is the category i liked less. Not that those looks bad or else, just looks less pizza and i have harder time to imagine their taste.
I choose FB for homemade mozz (yeah, it's so badass), garlic/shallot combo, bacon and more bacon... Provalone? I think it's provolone. :P

Damn! With those toppings Ashen nearly paid me off! :D Grana Padano and salame veneto ftw! Also anchovies and mushrooms! Garlic, that is never enough.That seems a delirium of tastes! I don't know which cheese is friulano, but sounds good! :D
I liked too hydro.
Maybe i wanted it more airy, but it's so good! :D

Also thanks Key for appreciating volcano, for sure yours looks really good and you have been good to make it the first time! I think that some onion would have been perfect here!
 
Dessert:
geeme! And i hate ginger, at least the drink, i think it's horrible, i never tried it in any other form.
But she had me at pomegranate, bacon, chocolate, cinnamon and a flawless execution.

I put a strike so the original is there but one can now understand.
 
I was a little thrown off. It's a very nice marinara pie, it has my eye for the classic for sure!
 
Well aright aright...That was a friggen marathon! I consider myself a brutal crust critic. After a couple hours of studying I got it worked out. Great efforts were made and everything was Fantastic. Couple of these pies took me to that special place.

Stage 1- Eat Dessert First! so I'm off to check out the dessert pies and Make Notes....since apparently we can't stagger votes?  only one shot for voting????  No Problem~

When I made a volcano pizza, I was mostly considering the fact that I hadn't made one before, and that it would theoretically probably be placed in the Unique category-given its shape. So that's where I sent it.
 
I suppose since it was just sopressata, tomatoes, garlic, and motz, maybe it could fit in the classic category. maybe not.
 
either way, given the way the votes are going it may not matter. ;).
 
but getting Essegi disqualified wasn't my intention. didn't even enter my mind.
