Pepper I.D

Got this from a friend of a friend. Any ideas? Strangely, it looks like it ripens and turns red length ways in stripes. There are other dark stripes like the one that you can see.

I'm no help at all, but i just had to post on your thread to say that it looks very nifty indeed. I don't have the room to presume to try and barter for seeds, or enquire further about the origins of your friend's seeds, but i hope you can find some space to grow it!

Is that pod fully ripened, of does this variety mature to a solid red? And, since everyone else wants to know, how's it taste? Also, how many stripes does it have? Does the plant bearing this have unsually colored blooms or foliage?

STH, it has a little heat, but I ate it all in one sitting with my dinner. Nice flavor, almost Cayenne like. I've kept all the seeds (let me know if you want some) as it's something that you can just keep eating and enjoy, so I'll probably end up growing some next season.

Almost certain that Meathead has the I.D correct as Google pics of Jimmy Nardello look exactly the same. I'm sure that it does get fully red, but this one won't as it's in my stomach now.....Lol.

I grow them and agree it looks like a Jimmy Nardello. However, they are very sweet peppers and have no heat. My girls eat them straight off the vine, and they are pretty sensitive to spice.

Well, I did have some of my hot sauce on my dinner too which at first thought was the source of the heat.

But after my dinner, and after I removed all the seeds bare handed with my fingers, I rubbed my lips unknowingly and they started to burn. I promise you, this one had heat. Want seeds?

Been good mate, garden is packed with Chillies and hardly any soil is visible due to my plants thriving. I couldn't help myself and started 3 of your Reaper seeds the other day, along with 3 Douglahs. I'm hoping to keep them warm, and give them enough light to possibly produce pods in winter.

How about you?
