3" jalapeño with buds

Remove buds and and growth will continue. Otherwise mist nutrients go to fruit production. Peppers will produce fruit whenever they want. There is no age or size limits.
 
My first reaction would have been " let nature run it's course" ,
but there is not a lot natural about this grow.
Still , chances are the flowers will drop by themselves.
