Peppers grown in pots, all quite small and not sure why

Hi - I am new to this site.  Anyhow, I live in Houston, and I am growing several different kinds of peppers in pots.  They get adaquate water, sun and organic fertilizer, and have grown well since Spring.  The only problem is that all the peppers are very small, about 20% of the size they should be.  For example, my poblano peppers are the size of habaneros, maybe just slightly larger.  Banana peppers are 3-4 inches, maybe 1/2 inch across.  The fruit is healthy, everything is good except the size.  Does anyone have any ideas what I am doing wrong?

I'd tend to agree with SpeakPolish. I'm growing jalapenos in small pots and the fruits are similarly small, even given good watering and nutrients. Smaller (hotter) chillies don't exhibit the same effect...
