Eggs under leaves or something else?

I just found these under a few leaves on one of my Habaneros, they are soft and easily wiped away but I'm wondering if anyone knows what they are? I cant see any critters on the plant and I cant see any damage on the plant. I have isolated the plant as a precaution as I have hundreds of different plants growing in the same room (I have checked most of the other plants and cant see any others with the same things under the leaves

Edema is hard bumps and can't be wiped away

Those look like aphids or whiteflys?

This is Edema... are you sure you can wipe it off your plant?

If you can wipe it away it's not Edema.

That's interesting you bring that up Masher and a good point.  My thought was "you can't just wipe it off easily" but my memory is also that when you just have intumescences forming early they do kind of wipe off - I'm just not 100% sure that's right from memory.  They also do kind of look like aphids, but the pattern is so typical of Intumescences that I didn't mention it plus I figured they'd be moving and obviously not eggs.

Thanks for a good reminder to not jump to conclusions and ask more questions to be sure.  ;)

I agree with CD,,,edema or the beginnings of it. Look into more air movement...the affected leaves will remain blemished, but new growth should start looking better if you get enough air moving. Doubtful its any kind of bug infestation if you're not finding it on more plants. Best of luck...update us if you get it figured out.
