Topics I've Started

New Neighbors (guinea pigs)

15 April 2017 - 02:42 PM

Just went across the street and introduced myself to the new neighbor who have been in the process of moving in over the last week or so. Of course hot peppers came up in the conversation within the first 10 -15 mins.

I took a sample of my brown moruga / chocolate primo powder over to break the ice or melt it. Apparently the he of the new owners, who I have yet to meet is really into hot stuff(whatever that means). Most people I meet that make that claim dont know what really hot is, YET. Guess we will see.

Bonchi candidate

16 March 2017 - 12:33 AM

This is a posible bonchi candidate. It is a 7 pot bugrundy that did a 360 loop as a sprout. Might make an interesting bonchi specimen. What do you think?

Among my extensive chocolate grow list, I have several other selections that interested me enough to grow them this year as well. Among them is the kaleidoscope chili. Below is the resulting sprout. It is rather interesting as it looks like a pitcher plant or some form of carnivorous plant.

I only started 1 so I have to let this one grow out and hope for the best.

it appears both the cotys and 1st set of true leaves are variegated in 2 separate plantings.

The does and donts of sauce making

18 February 2017 - 11:44 PM

I am not a sauce maker yet. But I do enjoy a good sauce or two now and then.

I just recently bought a sauce and was taken surprise by when I began to inspect it and discovered it contains a large amount of seeds.

In sauce making has anyone found that seeds impart bitterness or any other unfavorable flavors? I am just curious because when I use a sauce, that is all I want to be using. seeds are for growing.
