#1578541 Beginner looking for trustworthy seeds or seedlings for the following

Posted by hogleg on 29 August 2018 - 01:47 AM

Just because I'm only now posting in the hot pepper does not mean that I just began this as a pipe dream yesterday. I have been researching and researching and researching. As far as what I got… 3.5 gallon kitty litter buckets modified to hold plants as well as insert for air hose for oxygenating the water. I have ordered three quarts of Flora series nutrients, a kingbo 600 watt LED grow light, A 32" x 32" x 63 in reflective mylar grow tent Is the route I'm taking just to begin with.

As a poison dart frog breeder of 5 years I am no newbie when it comes to dealing with frustrating project issues. It takes dedication, education and responsibility and as far as my disability goes, that's not something that will be a hindrance for me and I'm trying to wrap my head around why somebody would speak on that without knowing anything about my situation other than the small amount I have posted and to be clear I post about my disability because I'm proud of how much I've overcome and not to have my ability to do what everybody else does because of it.

Thank you for the concern but I am a 41-year-old man with a team of personal assistants and 2 teenage daughters that will be managing the project with me. You're probably asking yourself if I know so much and why am I waiting until so late in the season to begin and that's because putting together the money to do this properly takes time and it's at that point in the process which I find myself now.

You sound passionate enough, and I suspect you have the dedication.

If you wanna send me a private message with your address, I'll help you get a seed collection started.

Once you have a small collection started, trading for new types will become common place here.

BTW those lambchops are sick!  :metal:

#1578429 Would You Like to Play a Game? Help Me Pick Some(5) Peppers

Nice balance of eating peppers to your list.

I feel like you need an orange thai in there. For that penetrating annuum perfume and it's sharp fast acting but not overpowering heat.

#1578361 Rocoto Red (Manzano) Seedling leaves browning from the tips

I've got a young Pube (it just popped through the soil in the last week) underneath 50% shade cloth but it's getting a full day of sun. Is this OK or is it still too much direct light?

NorCal has been unseasonably cool and Oakland has been cloudy/foggy/smoky with temps in the 70s.

Thanks!

I think you'll be fine under the shade cloth.

Sounds like too much direct sun for a young pubescens to me. 2-3 hours direct morning sun should be more than enough IMO

Just when I think you've photographically extracted every bit of coolness out of a pepper.

You post three more pics like that.

Your photo documentation frequently leaves me in awe.

That first one is worthy of framing and hanging

(no homo)   :D

Wow looks quite prolific for a first season pube. If let go overripe does it stay olive color or does the yellow start to bleed thru?

Another stunner, Great work JB!!

#1577068 Pepperlover NAR: what is this?

Posted by hogleg on 22 August 2018 - 10:18 AM

There is a section on this forum labeled "Pepper ID" specifically for your question.

I have to agree with Bob.

The type is positively defined. He wishes to discuss its attributes.

I can see how the title could have mislead you but this is the correct section, this time.
